Channel width is matched to the cable with a controlled side clearance, typically 0.2-0.4 mm per side, so the run registers side to side without slop. Internal height is matched to cable thickness, pressing the face down with even pressure that never crushes conductors or shields. Two dimensions, three constraints: the cable is located in width, pinned in height, and contained at its edges - which is exactly why it cannot rotate in place.

Leg design follows the mounting surface. The pre-set steel nail suits wood, plasterboard, and composite panels; a screw-boss leg suits sheet metal and machined plates; a wider pad carries adhesive for bonded enclosures. Screw and nail variants can share one body style, but the plating spec changes with the environment.
